Cellulose Casings are regenerated cellulose casings which could be presented in the form of shirred sticks and designed for automated production of tubular sausages such as hot dogs, cooked sausages, dry salamis, pepperoni, mortadellas. Casings are also permeable to smoke and water vapor. 

These casings are manufactured from a straight chain polysaccharide found as the primary component of wood , and also straw and cotton .These are non edible and need to be peeled off before eating and cooking
